So cool!

I put The Bunker up today. Ran into a little issue with the center stud. It seems my center stud is actually two studs right next to each other! This means that the studs to the right are 16” apart from the right middle stud and the studs to the left are 16” apart from the left middle stud. This means I had to get creative with the center section with the feeding bowls. I ended it with a regular bracket anchored in the drywall instead of the peekaboo shelf since the length is now almost 2” short due to the middle stud issue. I left a small gap then anchored the peekaboo in the location shown in the instructions. I just needed to trim the fabric. I accidentally damaged one of the brackets by over-tightening the connector, so I omitted the small top hammock. Overall took about three hours to install working alone. Simple and clear instructions made it easy!

Awesome!

I purchased this as well as the Deluxe Maze and combined them onto a large wall. The cats have been climbing, sleeping, hunting and having a blast with this. The tall scratching post is great as both cats love to stretch up when they scratch, and one of them loves to climb things so this does the trick better than other things he tries to climb around the house. I will definitely be buying additional pieces to build onto it over time.

Hi Laura! Thank you for your review and the great picture! We are so glad you and your cats are happy with the Bunker and the Deluxe Maze. Please let us know if you ever have any questions or issues regarding the furniture. Thank you!

Kitty City!

My cats are loving their new climbing wall! This is a slightly modified version of the Bunker, but one of the things I love about these modular shelves is that you can adapt them to the needs of your space. I preparing to install this, I found the video by Nicholas McMillon on the Catastrophic Creations website super helpful. My kitties took to the set-up the day I put it up and it's now a favorite play spot of theirs. I am impressed with the quality and strengths of the shelves and hammocks. I highly recommend the Bunker to others!

Love this little wall

Our cat absolutely loves it. Eats her breakfast, turns around and rips the heck out of the scratching post before curling up to nap. I did a poor job measuring space ahead of time but thankfully the modular style makes it easy to adjust! 10/10 would recommend for other folks who have the funds to spoil the crap out of their cat.

Hi Megan! Thank you for your review. We are so glad that you (and your cat) are happy with the furniture. Please let us know if you ever have any questions or issues with it. Thank you!

Kitten enjoys being above eye level

Great experience with our Bunker. We had to use only 4 studs instead of 5 but were easily able to make it work and our kitten used it right away. I lured him onto the various platforms using treats. He was uncertain about the hammock stability at first but now he’s more comfortable. The sisal pole is a big winner.

Hi Jen! Thank you so much for your review. We are so glad your cat is enjoying the furniture! Please let us know if you ever have any questions or issues with it. Thank you!

Stud spacing and wall construction

Most construction in the US is made up of drywall over wall studs, which are wooden or metal 2x4s that act as the frame of the wall and are what the drywall is attached to. Because these studs are very sturdy, we’ve designed the furniture to be installed into them. They’re typically spaced out at 16” from center to center, so that’s what we’ve designed the furniture to accommodate.
