This was a really fun piece to make. It was a drinking fountain made up of almost entirely wood. Other than the wood, there were seven screws, a filter, and a water pump. Even the drain was drilled out of the base.
We were going for a solid wood drinking fountain in the style of the kind you see in school hallways. After treating the fountain with a marine epoxy on unfinished pine, it turned a very ugly yellow color. Then we decided to stain it a gray color and then sand part of it off, like it was a wooden drinking fountain pretending to be a real one. It didn’t really turn out how we pictured it.
