About: Cat Cubby with Perches - Covered Cat Bed

The Cat Cubby with Perches takes our standard Cat Cubby and extends their territory on both sides with the included Cat Perches. This allows your cat to hide behind the Cubby fabric or perch on the edge for an uninhibited vantage point. The additional platforms can help your cat traverse the cat wall more easily as well.

Fabric options

BLANK / BRICK PATTERN - close-faced front, to offer maximum privacy: a simple blank canvas and a screen-printed brick pattern.

PORTHOLE / BABY DRAGON - circles cut out of the middle. These are nice for playing but also come in handy for your cat to perform living room surveillance. One is a baby dragon, because every cat should get to live at least a brief moment as a mighty ferocious beast. The other option is a porthole from a ship, for all the pirate cats out there.

SLOTTED - Slotted front, which is nice for creating a semi-enclosed space. Our cats have really taken to this version. We think it’s because although it still has the “cubby” feel to it, they’re able to observe all around them.

The Cubby with Perches is designed for studs spaced 16” apart.

I bought several things from you for my daughter and her three cats for Christmas. I love everything the quality is amazing but this one item does nothing but make me laugh. Take a close look at the picture I thought it first the cat tail was part of the shelf. No its just our Sif loving life. LOL. honestly, this is the absolute best furniture for cats I have ever seen Will last a lifetime!

Hi Denise,Thank you for sharing this amazing photo! We love how much Sif embodies the elegance of a baby dragon, and we are happy to hear that this has been a fun addition to their space!-Alex M

Happy Cats

I have purchased 3 of the dragon houses. The cats love the houses. The sleep inside and on top of that dragon houses. They are very well-made heavy fabric. Very easy to install.

Thanks so much for leaving a review Michael, if you would ever like to share some photos of your adorable cats enjoying their Cat Cubby please feel free, we'd love to see them! If you need anything in the future, feel free to reach out to us!

Very easy to install. My cats love it and part of the time she will lay on top of the dragon house.

Hey Mike, I sent you an email about this review, as it appears it might be a mistake. Feel free to get back to me.

Love it ! My cats are fighting for it.

I got the cubby as a christams present for my cats. When I open the box I was scared its would be too small for my 15 lbs cat but she fit just fine ! The cubby is always claimed by one of them.

Hi Anick,

Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear that your kitties are loving the Cubby space that you got them for Christmas! I must say that you do have an extremely cute dragon! Please let us know if you need anything else in the future!

Cute, but hard to install

We got the cat cubby and cat steps to add to the climb cat condo we bought from Amazon. Our wall was standard, we were installing into studs, following all of the directions and tips, had all of the necessary tools, but it took my husband and I five hours to get everything up because the screws were either getting stripped or breaking in the wall. We ended up having to use a couple of screws we already had because we ran out of extras that came with it. The foam wall protector pads that came with the brackets also had holes that did not line up with the holes on the brackets which made marking holes and drilling very hard. I ended up having to punch out the foam pad holes with a hole puncher to make it easier (I also had to google to find out what these pads even were because they were not mentioned in the instructions booklets). After getting everything up, some of brackets still didn't feel super sturdy and required tightening of the metal piece to the wood piece (which already come put together). I greatly dread the day when we have to take this down. We put up another cat shelf bed that was less money, on the same day and it was ten times easier, came with higher quality screws, and feels more stable. I will say the cubby and climb cat condo visually look good and my cats like them so far. If I were to do it all over again, I'm not sure we would have gone with this brand because the quality doesn't really match up with the price point.

Stud spacing and wall construction

Most construction in the US is made up of drywall over wall studs, which are wooden or metal 2x4s that act as the frame of the wall and are what the drywall is attached to. Because these studs are very sturdy, we’ve designed the furniture to be installed into them. They’re typically spaced out at 16” from center to center, so that’s what we’ve designed the furniture to accommodate.
