Cat Wall Bridge and Shelf Set

I have one of those alcoves above my front door that are weird dust collectors, so I decided to make it an area for my cats. To do so, I bought the 66" long bridge-shelf set (with chew-resistant paracord).

It took almost a month for my cats to accept the bridge. I would use a ladder to set my cats on the bridge a couple times a week and slowly walk them along the bridge to show them that it was safe. Other times, I would put the cats on the alcove ledge and sit up there with them, giving them pets and treats.

The first cat to accept the bridge did so after about a week. However, she doesn't like how the bridge has some sway to it, so she jumps the entire distance. So far she hasn't hurt herself. Plus, her jumping has been getting better with time.

With the other cat, I could tell that she didn't like how slick the bridge was, so I added some grip strips to it at about week three. At this point, however, the alcove had become the first cat's territory, so the second cat still wouldn't cross it. And so, I moved their feeder onto the alcove so she would have to cross if she wanted to eat. The combo of the increased grip and food made it so she finally would cross the bridge of her own volition. After the food bowls were moved back to their usual spot, she still will walk over (as seen pictured).

Both cats like the sun they get from the window as well as being so high up and being able to look down upon us peasants. Plus, it is a safe spot from the dog.

I have 7 cats and I also foster and rescue cats. I have several catastrophic sets. It is the perfect thing for cats of all sizes! What I really love are the floating sistal posts and floating scratching posts! I recommend this for anyone who wants their cats to have fun!

I think I like it more than my cat does

Our entire wall is not done yet so the cats have not had time to explore the bridge yet, but we are working towards it and very excited. The piece was very easy to install, went right into the studs with no problem and very little bickering between the two of us as it went up. We are hoping this will prevent the cats from trying to swipe at the TV or anything behind it. Everything we have installed from Catastrophic Creations so far has been a dream!

When I saw the cat bridges were on sale I knew it was the perfect time to complete the wall space for my cat. And oh was it everything I could have hoped for and more! My cat Izzy simply loves it and everyone that has seen it think it’s the coolest thing ever; it speaks for itself! Not only does it look super awesome but it also adds to the room and gives a fun new experience for the fur baby :) 12/10 recommend!
