The Climb

Great quality!

The cats took to it before we even finished putting it up. They continue to use it daily and it is holding up well over a year later.

Types of Cat Ladders

We’ve designed three distinct cat ladder styles to fit different needs and aesthetics. Each one has its own style, mounting configuration, and perks, so you can find the perfect fit for your home (and your stud spacing!).  Each ladder is wall-mounted and weight-tested to ensure stability and safety.

The Lift

The Lift is our fabric ladder, it works on its own or as a connector piece between higher and lower shelves. It comes in both 16" and 24" stud spacing options, and can be angled up or down, left or right—whatever works best for your layout. Cats love using it as a comfy ramp or even as a spot to lounge mid-climb.

The Angled Sisal Scratcher

The Angled Sisal Scratcher combines the functionality of a ladder with the benefits of a scratching post. Mounted diagonally, it gives your cat a grippy surface to climb while encouraging healthy scratching habits. It’s designed for standard 16" stud spacing and adds a vertical twist to your cat’s environment

Angled Sisal Pole

Finally,  our most modular and customizable option. Available in single or double configurations and in 1–4 tier builds, this piece is great for creative layouts and adventurous climbers. The 1-tier, 3-tier, and 4-tier setups work with 16" studs, while the 2-tier and 4-tier options are also compatible with 24" spacing. If your wall has nonstandard stud placement, we’re happy to help you explore custom mounting options.

Benefits of Cat Ladders

  • Safe and secure transitions: Ladders give cats a predictable, stable path up and down wall-mounted condos, especially useful for older cats.
  • Encourages healthy movement: Vertical layouts stimulate your cat mentally and physically. Vertical ladders create low-impact access points that support their natural climbing instincts without risking overexertion.
  • Double as enrichment: Items like the Angled Scratching Pole or Angled Scratcher offer multiple functions, such as letting cats scratch, stretch, and climb all in one space saving unit.
  • Saves floor space: Since they mount directly on your walls, these ladders offer a full workout, or nap zone for your cat without taking over your home.

Designing a Cat Wall with Ladders

Whether you’re building from scratch or adding to an existing layout, it’s important to choose the right piece for your wall’s stud spacing.

The Angled Sisal Scratcher is great for creating an easy, grippy transition and is designed specifically for 16" stud spacing.

The Lift is available in two versions to match your walls: a 16" version for standard 16" studs, and a 24" version for wider 24" stud spacing. This piece doubles as a ramp and a lounging spot, making it both functional and fun.

The Angled Sisal Pole is our most flexible option. It comes in single or double-pole versions and ranges from 1 to 4 tiers. The 1-tier, 3-tier, and 4-tier versions work with 16" studs, while the 2-tier and 4-tier also work with 24" stud spacing.

If your studs don’t fall into either of those standard measurements, feel free to reach out to us at support@catacreations.com. We’re always happy to help find a custom solution that works for your home.

Cat Ladder Reviews

3 Maine Coon Lady

"I got this to finish off my cat walls, this was the last piece of three walls I have done. I love the way it looks and installation was easy, although I am a bit of a pro after all the walls I’ve done, anyway the cats went up it right away but are hesitant to go down. So far only one of the three will go down, but they like going up. I think in time they will all get the hang of it. Customer service was awesome as always with a couple questions I had."

The Lift

"Finally with the addition of the Lift, my heavier-set cat can access the playground! It gave her the confidence to continue exploring all the way to the top. Hopefully she will play on it like the others and start losing weight."

Couldn't Be More Obsessed!

My cat has always been a high-dweller, so I knew this was something she would love. It took her no time to get used to it, and she spends the majority of the day lounging on my wall now. Incredibly well built and thought out - this is a dream for my cat. I only wish I had more walls in my home so that I could buy more!

How to Install a Cat Ladder

Although our wall mounted items are designed to be installed with little or no prior experience, it’s helpful to have prior experience using a power drill. Another thing that will help make your cat wall installation a breeze is having a second person assist during the process.

Tools needed: power drill, stud finder, and pencil.

We’ve compiled everything you need to know to build the ultimate cat wall.  It’s always a good idea to review the process before starting your install, so please check out our links and see the video below to get a full rundown on the process.

FAQs on Cat Ladders

Are cat ladders safe?

Yes, when installed properly, wall-mounted cat ladders are very safe. All three of our designs are weight-tested (up to 85lbs per shelf, and up to 65lbs per Hammock), and made with premium materials like sustainable bamboo and thick sisal rope. We also include easy-to-follow installation instructions.

How does a cat ladder work?

Cat Ladders act as gentle on-ramps to help your cat climb to higher points in a setup. Depending on the ladder type, they may offer a soft fabric ramp (like The Lift), a grippy sisal surface (like The Angled Scratcher), or a durable scratching post (like the Angled Sisal Pole) that can serve as a climbing aid in addition to a scratching surface. Cats can use them to travel between levels of the wall-mounted furniture or simply as a comfy route to their favorite perch.

Is a cat ladder the same as a cat ramp?

Not exactly. While they both serve a similar purpose, helping cats reach elevated areas, ramps tend to be low-angle and made for gentle climbing. Ladders, especially those like our Angled Scratching Pole, often have more texture and verticality to them.
