We launched these Tetris Cabinet Cat Steps when we were still making furniture in our apartment. We were quite new to woodworking and didn’t know that it’s a bad idea to build cabinets from solid pine. This is something that should’ve been built with finished plywood, and they out turned out pretty bad.
The cabinet doors were held shut with magnets and when our cats ran up them the doors would sometimes swing open. Therefore, they didn’t feel safe. We talked about redesigning them, but since there were also issues with shipping these large units, we decided to retire the piece.
