Doesn't support a jump

After all the jumps and several holes done, it just broke again. Every time my cat jumps on it and are going all the way down, all the pressure just made the shelves weaker...and my cats are tiny cats compared to the normal. Some instructions or advices should be made to say how much we should distance each shelf in height. Because when you jump on something, the power generated on the shelf is a lot, and cats will generally jump on the side of it where there is no anchor. You can also on the picture how it is tilting.

Thank you for your feedback Marie-Claire, I'm very sorry that our furniture has not been able to consistently stay mounted into your wall. I will be reaching out to the email that you sent as well, so that we can collaborate on a solution that will not only hopefully help your cats get their shelves back, but also help us find more solutions for mounting these shelves.

Cat's Love Them

Needed some cat stairs to go with a previously purchased perch. The stairs were straightforward to install. (Note: The steps did not include the mini level I was expecting to be included based on the installation video, but luckily had an old picture frame level that I was able to use.) The instructions did not include any recommendations on how much height to have between steps, but I emailed Catastrophic Creations and they responded very quickly with helpful suggestions. (My house has studs at 2' instead of 18", so wanted to take this into consideration as well.)

Thank you so much for the kind words Brian, we are always happy to help with any questions you may have! We are also happy to see your cats enjoying their new furniture! If you need anything in the future, feel free to reach out to us.

Not stable

I’ve tried three times to use this shelf and attach it to the wall. It was meant as a step up to a larger shelf where the cat’s fold is kept. It won’t stay. She’s only about 8 pounds. I believe it needs to be affixed on both ends as opposed to just one. Anyway I’m done.

Hey Carl, We are really sorry that you have had this experience with the Shelf. A representative from our customer service team will be reaching out shortly to go over some options to amend this issue. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the product.

Stud spacing and wall construction

Most construction in the US is made up of drywall over wall studs, which are wooden or metal 2x4s that act as the frame of the wall and are what the drywall is attached to. Because these studs are very sturdy, we’ve designed the furniture to be installed into them. They’re typically spaced out at 16” from center to center, so that’s what we’ve designed the furniture to accommodate.
