OUR GOAL
After eight years of focusing on how to make cat furniture assembly easier, we wanted to release a product that can be built by anyone in minutes. These cat trees come with every tool you will need and assemble. It takes about 7 minutes to assemble the Grotto and about 12 minutes to assemble the Overlook. Although they come with step-by-step instructions, we will also have video instructions available prior to shipping the cat trees out.
Cats can have very different personalities and privacy preferences, so we designed these to offer a wide variety of spaces, each with a different level of seclusion.
The top of the structure is made up of a heavyweight canvas hammock, with ledges to lean against, but that are low enough to allow your cat to observe any direction around their perch.
This level is extended higher, so that it can only be accessed by cats able to jump up 16 inches (41 cm). Cats like it because it has a 360-degree view from the hammock and because there's only one way for another cat to try and crash the party.
But even as the highest level, it only sits 38 inches (96 cm) from the floor and any cat able to jump up in the first place can jump down in any direction to the floor without a problem.
From this level, a cat can sit on the plush pad with guard against cats sneaking up the ladder and through the escape hatch. If they're unable to hold off the intruder, the middle level sits only 22 inches (56 cm) from the ground, so even smaller cats can jump down to the floor to make a quick escape.
It also has two walls for a medium level of privacy. The triangular cut-outs in the wall work well for playing with toys.
It's meant to work for cats that prefer tighter and more secluded spaces. From this secluded space, your cat has triangle cut-out windows to expand their view or engage in play through the spaces.
The largest cat in my house prefers this level because he has a track record of being hunted by other cats and it has a closed-off cubby, which gives him a relaxing place to nap or observe his environment. After sitting in this preferred spot, he can also take three different routes out to avoid being cornered by another cat.

The cat trees are made from sustainable bamboo. Bamboo grows incredibly fast and after it’s harvested, its roots remain in the ground and do not need to be replanted like many other crops. Bamboo is a grass rather than a hardwood, which makes it more water-resistant and therefore is great for cleaning.
The bamboo panels of the structures are given a smooth finish and the shelf top has a rougher surface to provide traction for your cat.
